I can
think of no greater honor than to be asked by someone I have never met to photograph the
internment of their loved one. Such was the case when I received an email from Major
General Thomas Norville Wilson, USAF (Retired)'s daughter asking if I was available to
photograph the service. Having never been the photographer for an event that there
would be no "do over" for, I was a little apprehensive, to say the least.
I must have looked as if I was choking myself at times, with
two film cameras and one digital strapped around my neck, but.... It was a beautiful
day. The General's family are wonderful people. And hopefully I have gained
some long-term friends. I hope you enjoy the photographs of this very special event.
With the new headstone in place, I
photographed his place of honor this past Memorial Day
weekend 2007.
